About Us

Black Oak Feeders is a family-run cattle operation located just south of Melrose near Black Oak Lake. What started as a simple dream built from scratch has grown into the operation we are proud of today. In the early days, our first fences were pieced together with pallets and twine, but through passion, hard work, and plenty of blood, sweat, and tears, we have built Black Oak Feeders into what it is today.

We specialize in raising quality steers from the time they are weaned off milk through the growing stages, typically up to 400 pounds, as well as finishing select groups up to 800 pounds.

At Black Oak Feeders, we take great pride in the care and well-being of our animals. Our approach focuses on providing a healthy, low-stress environment and consistent nutrition to ensure strong, high-quality cattle. We believe that good livestock starts with good stewardship, and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards on our farm.

We market our steers through private sales as well as at Central Livestock in Albany, building trusted relationships with buyers and fellow producers.

In addition to our feeding operation, we operate Black Oak Trucking. With our own truck and stock trailer, we not only transport our cattle but also offer reliable hauling services for other farmers in the area.
