There are currently about 40 people including live-in caregivers and their families living together in family style homes with adults who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. Everyone works together on our 525 biodynamic acres to grow organic produce, care for farm animals, preserve and prepare food, create artisan crafts, and keep each other healthy and our homes clean and beautiful. Job Summary: The Direct Support Staff 1-to-1 at Camphill Village Minnesota requires a full commitment to the mission and values of Camphill. The main duty of the Direct Support Staff 1-to-1 is to provide companionship to the people with special needs. Weekly outings into the community, such as going to the library, movies, swimming, etc. will be the primary activities the Direct Support Staff 1-to-1 will provide.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative:
- Adhere to the policies of Camphill Village Minnesota (CVM), HIPPA, and Data Privacy Act. Maintain confidentiality of all information involving the person supported, family, and employees.
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Come to the site on time or with given notice when late
- Time management skills
Qualifications:
- 21 years of age or older
- High school graduate
- Experience with people with special needs
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to use your own reliable, insured vehicle
- Ability to read, write, and speak in clear English; able to effectively communicate with person served and CVM coworkers
Additional Information
- If hired, you will be trained with a CVM coworker and the person served to build a relationship before working alone. CVM will provide 22 hours (paid) of online training and on the job training on policy and care before working independently. CVM reimburses mileage driven at the rate of $0.70/mile.
Salary, Benefits and Schedule: We are offering a starting salary of $19 per hour for approximately 6 – 12 hours per week.
