Time Travelers Trek

Join the Sauk Centre community for a special celebration as we proudly present an event dedicated to our rich history! Step through time and experience the charm of days gone by with engaging period games that promise fun for the whole family. Walk and ride along for guided historical tours and discover fascinating stories told by period actors about our town’s past. Take part in the activities at Sinclair Lewis' boyhood home, the Little Red School House the History Museum and much more. Enjoy the games, food trucks and lively music, dancing, and artisan demonstrations all at Sinclair Lewis Park. This event is a wonderful opportunity to connect with Sauk Centre's cherished history and create lasting memories. We look forward to seeing you there!

Happening Much of the Day- Info Booth in Sinclair Lewis Park, opens at 9:45 am to begin your journey and register for tours.
- Food Trucks Annie’s Sizzling Grill & Purple Parlor, serving 11 AM to 3:00 PM
- Newsies handing out newspapers and bringing the day's happenings to you.
- Dave & Mari Thomas sharing their riddles.
- History Museum — 10 AM to 3 PM – A Stitch in Time, a captivating antique quilt show featuring beautiful quilts and the stories they tell. A must see, FREE.
- Little Red Schoolhouse — 10 AM to 3 PM – Kids crafts and treats.
- Pub Crawl — 10 AM to 6 PM – Pick up your passport at any participating business or at the Info Booth in the park. Get a stamp at a minimum of 4 locations to be eligible for drawing.
- Show & Shine Car Show – Noon to 3 PM – Sinclair Lewis Park – Stroll through decades of automotive history. Want to show your car? Text Bonnie @ 320-492-3782
- Sinclair Lewis Boyhood Home – 12:30 PM to 3 PM – Porch-Side Readings (Selections from Sinclair Lewis’ works)
- Artisans Demonstrations – Noon to 3 PM – Sinclair Lewis Park – Quilt tying, spinning, knitting & crocheting, weaving, macrame and more. Watch, learn, and participate. Portrait drawings by Chris Thomas.
Timed Tours, Events & Opportunities- 10 AM, Noon, or 2 PM — Cemetery Tour ($10 ticket at info booth; bus from Sinclair Lewis Park, meet “residents” who share their story.) *Cemetery Tours available at 10a, 1p, and 4p.
- 10 AM, 1 PM, or 4 PM — History & Murals Walking Tour (Meet at the 510 Art Lab)
- 11 AM — Dazzling Dave the Yo-Yo Guy – Dave Schulte is a professional yo-yo performer and highly acclaimed champion who has circled the globe. Sinclair Lewis Park Bandshell.
- 11:30 AM or 2:30 PM — Historic Homes Tour ($10 ticket at info booth; bus from Sinclair Lewis Park, guided drive-by tour of some of Sauk Centre’s most historic homes. Stay seated as your guide shares stories & history during the route.)
- 1:00 PM – 3 PM — Live music on the bandshell stage. Sinclair Lewis Park.
- 4 PM, 5 PM, or 6 PM — Ghost Tales in the Pub (The Palmer House)
- 6:30 PM — Bingo at Sauk Centre American Legion (funds raised support History Museum & Boyhood Home). Cost is $12 for 12 games, pay at the door. Lite bites available during intermission by the SC American Legion.

*Tours listed below have pre-sale tickets available. Pre-sale tickets ensure your group are able to secure tickets together for your preferred time slot. Pre-sale is not required but encouraged.- Cemetery Tours: 10AM, 1PM, or 4PM option. Cost: $10.00
- A one of a kind tour where you will be greeted by several "residents" as they share their story.
- Historic Homes Tour: 11:30AM, or 2:30PM option. Cost: $10.00
- Hop on the bus for a seated drive-by tour as your guide shares stories and history revealing fascinating facts, entertaining stories, and information about some of Sauk Centre most historic homes.
* Tickets can be purchased the day of event at the Sinclair Lewis Park information booth/registration tent starting at 10 am.
