    • About

WACOSA is a non-profit organization, established in 1963, and initially started by parents seeking support for their children. Today, WACOSA serves over 625 adults with disabilities in central MN with locations in Waite Park, St. Cloud, and Sauk Centre. WACOSA’s main goal is to enrich lives and to find employment opportunities in order to give everyone the chance to live and work in their communities. While our main mission is vocational, we also offer many other services to adults with disabilities, such as art, physical fitness, and gardening classes offered throughout the year. We strive to empower our clients and help them achieve their dreams by offering them choices throughout their work and personal lives.
The people we serve provide a variety of labor needs both in-house and in the community. These may include assembly, collating, packaging, shrink wrapping, general janitorial, and confidential document shredding. We also provide job coaching support to individuals who are employed independently in the community.
WACOSA also works towards connecting people with disabilities to businesses and job opportunities that match their skills and interests. One way we do this is by asking local businesses to partner with WACOSA by providing opportunities to tour, job shadow, and gain work experience for the people we serve. Our business partnerships have allowed the people we serve to gain the experience and skills needed to be employed in their community; some are even hired by the business that provides the opportunity.
