Meet the Fed: A Member Advocacy Experience

Join the Sauk Centre Area Chamber for a members-only trip to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, an exclusive opportunity to learn, connect and make sure the voices of our local businesses are heard.

During our visit, we’ll take a guided, 75-minute walking tour exploring how the Federal Reserve influences interest rates, employment, price stability, banking and the overall health of our economy. We’ll follow the journey of a dollar, watch automated robots move millions in currency, see what $4.6 million in cash looks like and even sit on a chair made with $1.7 million in shredded money.

More importantly, this visit gives our members a seat at the table. Following the tour, we’ll participate in an economic discussion and business roundtable with head of Regional Outreach group at the Minneapolis Fed which handles all business outreach, advises President Neel Kashkari on current business conditions in the Ninth District. They want to hear directly from businesses across our area about current conditions, emerging trends and the challenges and opportunities affecting our local economy. Participants will receive a brief survey in advance so we can bring meaningful, real-world information from the Sauk Centre area into the conversation.

Creating connections like these is an important part of the Chamber’s advocacy work. This is your opportunity to share your perspective, help inform the Federal Reserve’s understanding of our regional economy and connect with fellow Chamber members along the way.

This event is open exclusively to Sauk Centre Area Chamber members. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.

Thanks to Minnesota National Bank, complimentary registration is available to the first 30 participants. After those sponsored registrations have been claimed, the cost is $25 per person to help offset transportation. Lunch following the tour at Red Rabbit is not included, and participants will order and pay for their own meals. (Please note: Registration fee covers cost of transportation and no proceeds o to Minneapolis Fed.)
